I feel like I’ve been very serious lately on this blog, so I thought I’d share something funny that happened recently. I stepped onto my scale to see it just said, “lo.” I know this means that the battery is low and needs to be replaced, but I couldn’t help but think, “Thanks scale! Next time, though, showing the actual number would be much more helpful!”
Just the confidence boost I needed for the day, right?
But for real, I think my scale is broken now, which kind of stinks. Even after replacing the batteries the blue backlight wasn’t working. Now that a week has passed, I noticed all the LCDs would blink every 30 seconds (maybe it was once a minute). I waited a couple hours before checking up on it and it wouldn’t turn on at all!
I contacted the company and they were awesome, just verified serial number to make sure it’s still under warranty and a new one is on it’s way to my home! I’ve been incredibly happy with the scale’s performance so far (even if it’s occasionally mean to me), and just have to wait 2-3 weeks for the new one to arrive. Maybe it’s the world’s way of telling me not to focus on that scale number for the time being and just keep going with everything else.
Continue training for the Chicago Bears 5k, continue going to get gym to gain muscle, continue to eat well. I’ll take my signs anywhere I can find them these days, even if it’s in my own silly thoughts when I’m alone.
For those curious, the scale is an EatSmart Precision Premium Digital Bathroom Scale, I chose it because the reviews were great. Even with this problem I’d definitely recommend it, it’s thin, consistent, pretty much what you’d expect in a scale.
