Lolo 10-lb challenge, because why not?

If there’s something that I learned the past year, it’s that I have a competitive spirit and need something to work towards to be successful on this health journey. Knowing that, I need to keep setting mini goals to have. I think I have to revisit some of the motivation factors I wrote about last year, and really figure out my game plan.

Something I stumbled across is the 10 Pound Challenge from Lolo. If you recall, Lolo was one of the apps I first downloaded when I started training for the Bucktown 5k, so they send me periodical emails. Small Wins: “Shopping”

It’s the little things that really mark progress. Today I went “shopping” and got myself a new shirt!

Now why do I keep saying “shopping” with quotes? Because that shirt was given to me as a Christmas present from my sister last year. It’s a 2XL, but due to the stupid modern cut and stretchy material, it’s tighter than all of my regular XL shirts.

I like the shirt a lot, but it’s been too snug in the belly to wear out in public and has been collecting dust in my closet.

Until today! Huge confidence boost.

It’s the little wins that keep you going! Once I’m able to fit into more stylish clothing, one of my next steps will be to step up my fashion game. Here’s a baby step to doing that.

Weight Loss Challenge Week 5 – Motivation

This week was a rough one. The lowered caloric intake, the higher energy expenditure, my body is literally eating itself. I’m just trying desperately to make sure it’s eating fat instead of muscle/bone/anything it’s not supposed to.

Something I’ve been getting into is watching weight loss related videos on YouTube while eating dinner and relaxing. This whole thing has become a part of my life. As I hope this blog helps out other people someday, other people have been down similar journeys and have shared their stories.
